About New Tech Ag Pty Ltd

New Tech Ag Pty Ltd is a newly established company in North Queensland whose directors are Philip Jones of Townsville and Michael Minuzzo from the Burdekin district. Both directors have come from the conventional granular fertiliser industry – Philip as a Territory Manager with one of the larger companies in the industry and Michael as an employee of an agent for that company before striking out on his own as a dealer for a fertiliser company. The sugarcane industry is predominant in their region.

Philip and Michael separately over the past five years or so have become increasingly involved in a number of products from various new suppliers which aim at ameliorating soils, increasing soil organic carbon, promoting soil microbe populations and reducing nutrient loss.

The opportunity arose in October 2009 for Philip to become a distributor for a Queensland-based company called Nutri-Tech Solutions Pty Ltd – this company is a world leader in biological agriculture and sells a wide range of products designed to provide a balanced array of minerals, together with the production of beneficial microbes for soils, plants, animals and humans. Philip immediately asked Michael to become involved, thus utilising his existing infrastructure to enable the business to commence immediately.

The territory granted to New Tech Ag Pty Ltd for its distributorship stretches from Ingham to Mackay. A number of wholesalers will be established to sell the wide range of products to farmers, plant nurseries, turf growers, local governments and the general public. The process is now underway.

Looking further into the future, the company will be involved in supplying a number of soil ameliorants that are aimed at correcting soil pH and supplying some of the basic nutrients that form the building blocks of any fertilization program.
